If you want to edit the default paint you would click on the name of the one (in this instance, Paintjob) and hit the Plugins button on the right. Might need to widen the Name category to see which is which, but the Car Number, Paintjob, Uniform, and several other things are in there. Now your UABE should say the default_c17_joey_lagano.rab and a dropdown with CAB-bunchoflettersandnumbers, hit Info and a new window will pop up. Open default_c17_joey_logano.rab with UABE and it will say it's compressed, you wanna unpack it? Yes, then chose some random location (I make a folder for these, you don't need to access these files) and save it named anything (I tend to name them like "1")

Before I mess with any, I always drag a copy of the original file, always a good idea to have a backup. Pick which one you're doing, let's say it was Joey Lagano, that would be default_c17_joey_logano.rab. C17 is Cup, X17 is Xfinity, dirt is Dirt, and T17 is Truck. This is where all cars from every series are stored. In that exe, file>open and go into the SteamLibrary>steamapps>common>Nascar Heat 5> NascarHeat5_Data>StreamingAssets>PC>AssetBundles>CarAppearances folder. Unzip that thing into it's own folder and open the AssetBundleExtractor.exe

So, you need the Unity Asset Bundle Extractor (UABE) from here: Now this won't work for a custom career car, it works to replace a default drivers car (like if wanted to take Joey Lagano's car, you replace his paintjob and sign the contract and replace him as a driver) PNG files are what you make as a paintjob, then you load them into the RAB file to put them on a car. Yes, GIMP, Photoshop,, hell even MS Paint will do it really. Things get caught in the filter, sometimes unintentionally.
